Ammonium chloride, abbreviated as NH4Cl, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NH4Cl. It refers to the ammonium salt of hydrochloric acid and is mostly a by-product of the soda ash industry. It contains 24% to 26% nitrogen and is white or slightly yellowish square or octahedral small crystals. There are two dosage forms: powder and granules. Granular ammonium chloride is less prone to moisture absorption and easier to store, while powdered ammonium chloride is mostly used as a basic fertilizer for the production of compound fertilizers. It belongs to physiological acid fertilizers. Due to its high chlorine content, it is not suitable for application in acidic soils and saline-alkali soils. It is not suitable for use as seed fertilizer, seedling fertilizer or foliar fertilizer, nor is it suitable for crops that are sensitive to chlorine (such as tobacco, potatoes, citrus, tea trees, etc.). Ammonium chloride has a high and stable fertilizer effect in paddy fields because chlorine can inhibit nitrification in paddy fields, facilitate the formation of rice straw fibers, increase toughness, and reduce lodging and infection in paddy fields.
Purpose
It can be used as raw material for manufacturing dry batteries and storage batteries, other ammonium salts, electroplating additives, and fluxes for metal welding.
2. It is used as a dyeing aid, and also for tin plating and zinc plating, tanning leather, medicine, candle making, adhesives, chrome plating, and precision casting.
3. For use in medicine, dry batteries, fabric dyeing, and detergents.
Industrial-grade ammonium chloride is mainly used in batteries, electroplating, dyeing and weaving, casting, medicine, flocking, dental implants, chemical intermediates, etc.
